| This new web site, now called A1 Housing Exchange is still a simple, easy to use web site. We have designed this new
version of the very popular A1 Council Exchange web site, to make it a much more powerful service. The biggest change is
that you will now be able to contact other A1 members directly from the web site, discuss exchange properties in much
more detail and even be able to send private messages back and forth between other members. |
| Registering with A1 is FREE and as a visitor you will be able to post details of your property as well as see what exchanges
are currently available. There is no time limit on how long your FREE advert will run advertising your exchange. As a visitor you
will be able to browse the web site, see the other properties that are available and even leave messages for other members and
visitors. |
| A1 offers you full membership to the web site for a small subscription of £5.00 per 90 days. You will be able to pay this
by credit/debit card using the secure online PayPal service even if you don't have or want a PayPal account. Subscription will
enable you to take full advantage of all of the features of the new web site, fully describe your property and be able to post
many more details about your own exchange and also easily locate the property you are looking for. You will be able to post
messages to others members and visitors asking explicit questions about an exchange. |
| A1's aim is to help you find your exchange quickly and easily and so the web site has been built to help you achieve
this. Exchanges are easy to find, there are no jumbled list of posts for you to have to hunt through. You will be able to
see which members want to move to your area and you will be able to arrange multi-way exchanges very simply by
posting details of other member's requirements. Posting questions and using the private messaging facility will enable you to
find out as much as you can or need to know about a potential exchange before visiting the property, this will hopefully save
you a wasted journey that can be many miles away. |
| A1 Council Exchange was the very first housing exchange service for council and housing association tenants
online, we have been going now since 1999 and have helped 1000s of members to find exchanges quickly and easily and
most exchanges have taken place within two or three weeks of a member joining A1. |
| A very helpful aid to finding your exchange quickly is the A1 Exchange Poster which members can download and
then print off so that it can be displayed in a suitable location. You don't have to enter your contact details on the
poster if you prefer not to, simply add your username and the area under which you can be found. Then any potential
exchange partners can look up your exchange property details on the web site and contact you though A1's new
messaging facility. The posters can be displayed in the area you wish to move to and will attract more members for
you to contact about your ideal exchange. It's always worth displaying the poster in the area you live as well because
visitors to your area may also then get to see it there. Council and Housing Association offices are a good place to display
the poster as well as doctors surgeries, etc. A1's logo is becoming more and more recognised as 1000’s of these posters
have already been displayed all over the UK. Many members have found their exchange very quickly using this method alone. |

cancel your membership and subscription once you have found your exchange to avoid disappointment for other members
and visitors. Cancelling the PayPal subscription is done very easily through your PayPal account. |
